Build in the mid-18th century under the direction of the 9th Karmapa, it holds the ashes of the 16th Karmapa and also has the most astounding Buddhist artefacts. You will see the beautiful walls are painted with gold murals and corals, the place bustling with lamas of different ages, the well preserved golden stupa, statues and thangkas.
